Volunteering

'From being a punter to a member of the team, it was a privilege to be present when Daylight Music reopened its doors. A safe and welcoming space for indulging in great music, nibbles and community.' – Adam

What are you doing this Saturday morning?

Would you like to join us, volunteering your time to support our community of music makers and music appreciators? What skills do I need you ask? Well apart from a passion for music - all we ask is energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to emerge from bed, navigate London’s weekend train closures timetable and find the right door to enter the venue on a Saturday morning!

The all important details - the event for the backstage team starts at Saturday mornings 10am – 3pm, the show is 12noon – 2pm. The event series runs 20 or so Saturdays a year across different London venues, which a focus on those in Bethnal Green and Leytonstone.

We're now recruiting for our new Kent volunteer team, for series returning visits to Faversham and (in the near future) Margate. The only difference is our Faversham show are normally on a Sunday.

At the heart of Daylight Music is a team of volunteers –and we always need more people of any age and background to help run our café, collect ticket donations, answer visitors’ questions, assist the performers, look after the merchandise stall and generally make sure everything runs smoothly.

Alternatively you can consider support us online - away from the focus of the event itself, we’re always excited to hear from those who might want to contribute their skills in the lead up and between our events. Whether that is a skill you already have or whether that be something you’d like to learn more about. This could be supporting us on social media, flyering, fundraising or any support of the considerable administrating for the series.

Work experience - although we don’t have a specific scheme or programme in regard to work industry experience there are many occasions volunteering at the series has significantly helped focus volunteers CV’s toward a career in live music (event production, sound engineering, video editing). If you are looking for experience specifically for this purpose, we can look at trying to cater the volunteering as best we can, within what the series can offer.
