337: A Lost Year with Késia Decoté & Charlotte Botterill, Plumm & Marysia Osu + School of Noise

30 October @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

A lost year with Késia Decoté & Charlotte Botterill, Plumm & Marysia Osu + School of Noise
30 October 2021 at St John’s Leytonstone, midday to 2pm

Pay-What-You-Can entry (we suggest £10 adult, children free) on the door, subject to availability/capacity.

[NEW for 2021] Where possible, we recommend you reserve your ticket in advance and we appreciate you supporting the series this Autumn in these uncertain times.

Mid-season we try to track down where did the last year go? Maybe attempt to understand what really happened to us during that time? We ask ourselves perhaps whether our relationship to music and each other changed in any way.

So based on this premise we start with a sense of learning and inquisitiveness across generations with School of Noise, who run workshops for all ages exploring music and the science of sound. Their live shows take audiences on a sonic journey from how sounds are made and how they travel to where they end up. We make up for lost time by entering the mood-driven looped vocal sound painting of Plumm who is joined by Harpist and Producer Marysia Osu (combining harp, beats and dreams). Finally, we listen in on a conversation between performer Késia Decoté and composer Charlotte Botterill, presenting a series of moments in (piano) miniature exploring the ideas of isolation, friendships, loneliness and change, as well as observations of the natural world and its ability to lift one’s mood.

An event for all ages. As always with this series we endeavour to make our audience feel as safe, comfortable and welcome as we possibly can.
